2024 has been an exciting year for ECF, marked by growth, innovation, and continued success in shaping the future of community engagement both here and in the UK. As we reflect on the past year, we are grateful for the incredible opportunities our clients, partners and colleagues have given us to expand our team, deepen our relationships and refine our strategies to engage and communicate across Government, the private sector and communities in meaningful and impactful ways.
One particular focus this year has been to lead discussions and open the dialogue with industry experts on how best to use technology to both enhance people’s engagement experience and provide best practice efficiencies to engagement practice. To generate thought provoking discussions on this topic we recently hosted a UK-Australia Role of Artificial Intelligence in Community Engagement webinar. Our panel of speakers from Australia, New Zealand and the UK covered a range of thought-provoking topics and insights. You can watch the webinar here.
The strategic use of artificial intelligence provides new opportunities for engagement practice across public and private sectors. For example, our strategic partnership with Hello Lamp Post (HLP) gives our clients a new kind of access to a huge variety of Australian audiences.
Hello Lamp Post (HLP) is being successfully used across a broad range of sectors such as emergency services, local government, transport, waste and in both the UK and Australia. It ensures we are reaching far deeper into a diversity of audiences such as tenants, destination visitors, shoppers, students and commuters.
If you would like to know more about HLP, please contact our team.
There is so much to learn from different parts of the world about AI and still much to explore such as operational efficiency, ethics, and the use of AI as a tool not a strategy.
Because we operate in both Australia and the UK, we notice many parallels in both policy and politics and there is much to be learnt from each other. In 2025 we will continue to gather intelligence and best practice methods from international specialists, share our findings, and drive cross jurisdictional discussions on the future of engagement as it relates to all elements of the built environment in both jurisdictions.
In the meantime please enjoy learning more about our team and some of the innovative approaches to communication and engagement we have taken in 2024.
Kind regards,
Kathy Jones, Executive Chair
