Bonnyrigg has a rich cultural history and diverse language mix, with nearly 60% of the population born outside of Australia, and more than 75% of residents speaking a language other than English at home. It has been essential to develop a clear narrative and communications sensitive to the different interests and concerns across the community.
ECF is providing communications and engagement advice and on the ground implementation support to Traders In Purple during the construction of public and private housing in Bonnyrigg in Western Sydney. NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) has appointed Sydney-based developer Traders In Purple to deliver Stages 7b to 11 in the next phase of the Bonnyrigg Renewal that includes 210 new private land lots, 65 community houses to be managed by St George Community Housing, as well as new roads, a park and community infrastructure.
ECF is responsible for managing the community information line and preparing project updates, newsletters, notifications, and resident letters. During the planning for a major sewer line to be installed in the area, ECF has been doorknocking residents to obtain access to their properties on behalf of the construction crews.
Construction will be ongoing for the next two years, during which time ECF will continue to support Traders In Purple on the project and build relationships with the Bonnyrigg community.
