ECF Australia is looking for a Community Engagement Consultant to join us as we establish our business in Sydney. ECF is a specialist community and stakeholder engagement consultancy operating within the built environment with offices in London and Sydney.

The company has been successfully operating in the UK for the past five years and the co-founders, have recently established a presence in the Sydney market. In the UK, the business works on significant engagement projects in the government and private sectors, and we are looking to build a similar profile in Sydney.

In establishing ECF in Sydney, we will be working with technology partnered form the UK and around the world to partner the best innovative tools with the right engagement programs across NSW.

The Role

This position is one of the first created within the business in Sydney. The individual appointed to the position will have a unique insight into how the business operates, and the opportunity to work across project delivery (in both Australia and the UK, potentially), new business acquisition and marketing activities.

Therefore, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering community engagement strategies and programs for our clients in the built environment sector. They will also help support the development and execution of our business development plan for the next 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement community engagement strategies for planning and development projects
Identify the best tools to use to deliver on those community engagement strategies.
Facilitate community consultation and engagement activities, such as information sessions, workshops, and public meetings.
Identify and engage with key stakeholders and community groups.
Analyse and interpret community feedback and provide recommendations to clients.
Prepare and present engagement reports and other project-related documentation.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, community members, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

An entrepreneurial spirit, and a positive attitude
Minimum of three years of experience in community engagement, consultation, or other relevant discipline
Strong communication and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to community engagement
Ability to work independently, and as part of a team

This is a Sydney-based position. However, we welcome hybrid models of working and are flexible to any approach that fits the requirements of the individual applying. We are also open to applicants looking to work on a part-time basis.
